A friend of mine had a wart on her hand, and she was sick of it, so she got the Compound W medicine, and applied it on Wednesday. Today, is obviously Sunday, and it’s still there. I need some advice ….?
So my cousin (who is also one of my closest friends) recently found her dad’s profile on a dating website saying he was single and looking for a date. She was extremely upset and confided in me. I told her that she should tell either her older sister or her mother but she said she’s too scared to tell anyone except me. I was really worried and didn’t want to see her upset, so I stupidly told her mother (my aunt) the whole story in private. My cousin soon found out and now is seriously upset with me. She tore up ever photo she has of me and her and deleted and blocked me off of every website. I feel so guilty about this whole thing and only wish I had a time machine I wish she could understand I was only trying to help. I know I shouldn’t have poked my nose in but seeing her so upset made me upset.

So that’s why I’m asking this. How can I get her to listen to me so I can explain myself? What should I say? And will she ever trust me again?

You did this for the right reasons but now need to learn from this that you never, ever take action on someone else’s problems without their permission. This is a life lesson for the future. You can’t turn back the clock, and that is another thing to learn. I think that the only thing you can do is let her know again (email, letter whatever gets through) that you are deeply sorry. Basically this has put her in an impossible position at home – had you thought of the consequences? Her dad is now probably absolutely livid about her revealing this, her parents are probably now in a crisis situation with their marriage, her mother won’t trust her father any more… the list is endless. No wonder she is mad at you. I can’t see how anything you can do can put this right. All you can do is again to express how devastated you are that you did this with the best intentions. You then have to leave her to it to work this out on her own, and for her family to stabilise, but I doubt very much indeed that you will be welcome in their home from now on as you will be a constant reminder of what her father was up to. We live and learn. Often the hard way.

Anyone know what movie this was?
This was a horror movie I saw on a late night monster movie show when I was a kid. It revolved around an artist haunted by repeated nightmares which drive him to paint the image he keeps seeing in his dreams. To this end he murders young women and freeze them to act as the "Models" for the painting. He moves into the mansion of a Sexpot girl while her folks are away and she tries to seduce him, but ends up mudered herself. The artist lures in a few more women before he is undone when the power company cuts the juice to the estate for a repair and the bodies thaw out with the result the artist gets killed by an arrowed fired from the bow of the sexpot. This movie has stayed with me all these years and I would love to know the title.

Ok so in the beginning of this year I started thinking about this girl, she’s a grade above me and all signs point to her. I’ve ran into her in random places! A majority of the movies and shows I watch I end up saying to myself "wow that actress looks like Marie" (Girl I like…or idk) The problem is: is that I don’t think I like her! I’ve felt way more strongly about other women in my life. I could say I was maybe "in love" with them, but with Marie all I feel is like a little crush… buuuuuut… I find myself thinking about her way more than anything else! Usually I’m thinking about sex with super models, fast/hot cars, zombies, Music, badass movies!! (I’m a 17 year old guy if you hadn’t guessed) but for some reason all I think about now is MARIE!! So I guess my final question is: Why do I think about her SO much when I’ve had stronger feeling for past girls!?

Which film, Avatar or The Hurt Locker for the Oscar?
For Best Film and for Best Director
Honestly as much as I don’t want "Avatar" to receive best film, I believe it will. My favorite film of the year was "The Hurt Locker" which I think, Kathryn Bigelow will receive for Best Director. It happened in 2006 with "Crash" winning Best Picture and Ang Lee winning Best Director for "Brokeback Mountain"

I really hope Hurt Locker will win both picture and director (and if Inglourious basterds doesn’t get screenplay, then I hope it gets that too).

Avatar was overrated. As much as I thoroughly enjoyed the film, that doesn’t make it "BEST picture." It was of course the most visually stunning film this year, but I don’t think that should be enough to let it come out with the award. I’m more of a story-line oriented film watcher, and the Hurt Locker had a great story and awesome characters (some of Avatar’s characters were simply laughable – I mean really, could you believe that "villain"?). I actually became more involved in The Hurt Locker because you could feel the tension and came to be interested in what happened to the characters, something I didn’t really get in Avatar. The only character I came to "care" about was the girl, Neytiri, who I think kind of carried the film (I really didn’t find myself caring too much whether the guy died or not. They just made him kind of unimportant, boring.)

To me, that’s more important. I simply didn’t leave Avatar asking any questions; the film felt so spoon-fed. There’s nothing to argue. Nothing to think about. Its like reading a picture book. An extremely enjoyable picture book, of course, in a guilty-pleasure kind of way.

I think that Up in the Air has the best shot against Cameron for best director, Jason Reitman is hugely popular right now. I also think that that film has a shot at winning best picture. Avatar is not really an "Oscar- type" film (if you have been following the Oscars for many years you’ll understand what this means), that does not mean it won’t win, it just means it’s not as sure a thing as people seem to believe it is, money doesn’t equal awards, especially not Oscars.

I personally would like for Kathryn to win best director and District 9 to win best picture but I don’t think that’s realistic lol.
